Drug of Abuse: Mescaline

Mescaline is a Schedule I controlled substance. It is a hallucinogen obtained from a small cactus called Peyote. It is a naturally occurring psychedelic alkaloid of the phenethylamine class. Mescaline can also be found in certain members of the bean family called Fabaceae. It has a similar hallucinogenic effect to LSD.
